This week I have acquired lots of
knowledge about organization and management. Firstly, Vishal gave us a lecture
about this topic which gives us a general picture , and then we have seminars
to gain a better understanding of organization and management ,digest it as
better as possible. Actually, I don’t know what is a seminar before I went to
Sussex, when I begin to engage in a seminar, it is a fantastic experience for
me .it is a bit challenging, but very effectual and interesting, Before I came
to a seminar, I will make adequate preparations, because I want to adjust myself
as fast as I can to get used to it, then I can handle it very well.
Turning to what I have understood
on organization. Organization is a social arrangement for achieving controlled
performance towards goals that creat value(controlled performance it means
responsibility is allocated very well).Common features of organization includes
people, objectives, management, structure and culture(the style of the
organization),this five features is so essential to the organization. From my
perspective, if an organization is able to do the best in these five parts , it
is certain that this organization is a good one. Let me take a example.
ASDA: public limited company.
ASDA: public limited company.
this is what I have understood about Asda organization.
This diagram made by myself expresses ASDA is a decision
driven organization which includes five features (mighty leadership, distinct
responsibility system, high performance culture, excellent execution and fully
displayed talents). At the same time ,it also shows that the structure of Asda
is sound and the management is effectual(because people is assigned to a
suitable place and play their talents very well),it is like a chain reaction,
every step is vital. So in my opinion Asda is a successful organization since
it does so well in these five area.
From this week’s
learning ,I gradually begin to think in different profiles or angels and form a
habit of critical thinking. Stay hungry, stay foolish !
Some good points raised here. You understand organisations and have applied Asda to make your point. Always try to apply examples to theory. This is good. Nicely produced. Well done.
